ACSSZ

    1.      The ACSSZ

    Association of Chinese Students and Scholars in Zurich (ACSSZ) is a non-profit, independent organization assembled and operated by volunteers of Chinese students and scholars in Zurich area.  The principle that govern ACSSZ is to serve the community of Chinese students and scholars in Zurich area.  To this end, ACSSZ will focus its effort on the following aspects:

  • Promote communication and friendship among Chinese students and scholars;
  • Encourage exchange of information and experiences on living, studying and working in Zurich;
  • Promote understanding and friendship with other Chinese communities in Zurich area;
  • Promote friendship and cultural exchange with Swiss people, our hosts.
    2.      Organization

    The association are comprised of Chinese students, scholars, and their family members studying, working, or living in Zurich area.  The governing body of ACSSZ is the Executive Committee, which is responsible to oversee interest groups and activities sponsored by ACSSZ.
    Students and Scholars registered to receive ACSSZ e-mail news and information exchange are considered to have applied and been granted the full membership of ACSSZ.  The Executive Committee will be elected at the Election Meeting by ACSSZ members each year in December.

    3.      Activities and meetings

    Monthly ACSSZ activities are primarily organized by interest groups such as Badminton Group, Swimming Group, Poker game Group, KaraOK Group, Soccer Group, Ping-Pong Group, and Readers Group, etc. General meetings of ACSSZ will be held each year to

  • celebrate Chinese New Year
  • report activities for the year just ended and current financial status; and
  • elect new committee of ACSSZ for the next year
  • In addition to the above efforts, ACSSZ's work will also focus on the following special tasks:

  • ACSSZ WWW homepage construction (http://www.acssz.ethz.ch);
  • Continuation of "Hope Project"
  • Social dance parties; and
  • Chinese School.
  •  Special events will be organized by ACSSZ committee or interest groups.  In such cases, members of ACSSZ will be notified in advance via e-mail.
    Interest groups are formed by members with common interests.  All ACSSZ members are welcome to join the existing interest groups and encouraged to organize additional ones.  ACSSZ will provide help in the distribution of information and, in certain cases, limited financial assistance.

    4.      Contributions and Donations
  • Membership fee for ACSSZ is free.
  • ACSSZ welcome and appreciate contributions and donations made by any individuals, business groups, and organizations.
  • ACSSZ encourage and appreciate volunteers to contribute a small amount of their time to ACSSZ.  Volunteers are needed for most of ACSSZ organized events.  Contributors and volunteers can contact the above listed ACSSZ committee members for coordination. Your participation and support to ACSSZ is the key to make ACSSZ a precious experience for you.
    5.      Liability

    ACSSZ is not a registered organization.  ACSSZ do not bare any legal responsibility to its members.  Members are to note that they participate in any ACSSZ activity entirely at their own risk.  Neither the association nor its representatives and other members shall be held responsible for any injury, damage or loss incurred by the members during any ACSSZ event.
